Did ya'll ever watch Three's Company? Come and knock on my door....we've been waiting for you...I could sing the entire theme song. You get my drift - I loved it! Then again, I'm pretty much a product of 80's television. I call this my "Chrissy from Three's Company look". She always seemed to have on shorts and espadrilles...perhaps that is where my love of espadrilles began. You should also know that I adore neutrals and simple and versatile pieces. This outfit is perfect for a casual Saturday lunch out or weekday errands. Not too casual, not too dressy...just right. The skinny belt adds a little pop and of course the sweater has those cute puffy sleeves and is actually the only thing new here. I purchased this sweater at Club Monaco about a month ago and I swear I have worn it at least 4 times already. If you like it, get it soon as they are selling out quick! The shorts are last season from Express and come in several colors, although the off-white has been my most worn pair so I should purchase another since they have them again this year! The blush ones are new this season and I wouldn't mind those too! Opting for simple, classic, elevated pieces gives you the most versatility from your wardrobe and every piece here is what I call a Wardrobe Essential. When you have a nice selection of elevated basics, you don't have to rush out and purchase something new to wear every single week. Your purchases can then become more thoughtful. Yes, we all love the cheap thrill of the latest trend we may want to embrace but it usually gets donated at the end of the season. If not, we usually end up asking ourselves "what was I thinking?". But I never regret continually adding elevated basics to my wardrobe to keep it fresh and current! Ever!
